Iberville Parish provides a variety of services that help protect residents from health threats, increase access to health services to improve health outcomes, and provide information that assists its residents in living healthier lives. Public Health services can be accessed from one of three locations located throughout the parish.
In January, 2015, Iberville Parish, in conjunction with Ochsner, one of the nation's top healthcare providers, opened the Iberville Ochsner Medical Complex in Plaquemine. Iberville Ochsner Medical Complex includes a 24/7 emergency department with 24 patient exam/procedure rooms, including two trauma rooms that are equipped to handle a range of emergencies.
The adjoining health center offers same-day appointments in Primary Care, Cardiology, and OB/GYN as well as 22 patient exam rooms, onsite lab services (including cardiology testing), radiology services (including x-ray, CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, and mammography.

The St. Gabriel Health Clinic is a non-profit organization partially funded by federal and state government, offering quality health care to the public. Among its services are screenings for anemia, blood pressure, cancer, cholesterol, diabetes, HIV, pregnancy, and more. It also provides immunizations, breast examinations, diabetes management, dental referrals, drug testing, EKG services, physical exams, family planning services, nutrition guidance, prescription assistance and health services to students at East Iberville Elementary and High School.
Fees are based on ability to pay according to federal poverty guidelines. It also accepts a variety of health insurances.

SouthStar Urgent Care is part of Hulin Health LLC, a leading provider of Urgent Care services in Louisiana. With a focus on patient care and team culture, they offer non-critical, but urgent medical care to patients as an alternative to long waits in the emergency room or when they cannot reach their primary physician after office hours or on weekends. Open seven days a week, the clinic welcomes all ages for treatment, with no appointment needed.
SouthStar Urgent Care clinics offers a wide range of award-winning services and treatments for the following or related reasons: Illness, injuries, x-rays and diagnostics, immunizations and physicals, occupational medicine, and more.

The Iberville Parish Health Unit is operated by the Louisiana Department of Health and Human Services. Services include immunizations, family planning services, follow up care for tuberculosis, and the WIC Program (Women, Infants & Children) vouchers for milk and foods. Clinics are also offered at various times on sexually transmitted diseases.
Appointments are not required for immunizations. However, they are required for the other Health Unit services. Those requesting placement in the WIC Program should bring a picture ID and proof of income and residence to their appointment.
