  • No demolition, renovation, construction debris or tree debris caused by contractor operations will be picked up by Progressive Waste / Iberville Parish.
  • Residential garbage service will be provided to residents after residents occupy the home. Waste derived from any construction created by a contractor is not considered residential waste.
  • If a homeowner hires contractors for each aspect of construction, it is still considered construction debris and will not be collected.
  • It is the responsibility of the owner and/or contractor to contact a waste removal company to have debris removed from the job site. This expense is to be paid for by the owner and/or contractor and not Iberville Parish.

The Solid Waste Department will accept used tires from individuals for disposal. Tires should be brought to the Solid Waste Office, located at 59705 Bayou Road in Plaquemine (adjacent to the Parish Maintenance Facility). The individual's name, address, telephone number, the number of tires (limit 5 per day), date, time of drop off, and the individual's signature will be recorded. Tires with rims are not accepted.

The tires are then put into a holder provided by Environmental Industries. Environmental Industries collects the tires twice monthly, and shreds them for recycling. At the end of each month, the Solid Waste Office sends in a Monthly Collection Center Report to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality Financial Services

Periodically, Iberville Parish holds “Parish Clean-Up Day”.  Stay tuned for the next parish-wide cleanup!

Bayou Plaquemine and Bayou Grosse Tete
Besides providing for residential garbage and trash collection and working daily with inmate labor to keep the parish clean, the Solid Waste Department and Parish have also worked to clean up Bayou Plaquemine and Bayou Grosse Tete via a contractor. These are photos from that clean up effort.

Parishwide Clean-Up Day
The Solid Waste Department has worked with the Parish's Image Committee to coordinate a parish wide Clean-Up Day. Hundreds of local residents participate in the clean-up event. The Department works to include businesses, communities, school and church organizations, government agencies and others in the event in order to spread the message that Iberville will not tolerate litter.

If you are not receiving sufficient garbage collection or boom truck service, call the Iberville Parish solid waste debris office at (225) 692-3844.
